and Brief Particulars of the Programmes
1. There is a proposal for introducing three distance learning Post Graduate Degree Programmes (a) Disaster Control (b) Sustainable Development (c) Ecology and Environment under the joint auspices of Barkatullah Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal and Priya Ranjan Trivedi Institute of Postgraduate Environmental Education and Research (PRT-I-PEER) New Delhi. 2. There are 10 papers in each of the Post Graduate Degree Programmes mentioned above. 3. The details syllabus for all the three programmes are given in this proposal for its approval by Barkatullah Vishwavidyalaya. 4. These programmes will be conducted under distance learning. 5. Around 2000 students will be admitted in these programmes. 6. As the collaborating institution (PRT - I - PEER) having headquarters at New Delhi has its own website, internet and all electronic equipments for managing the programmes and as all the lessons will be provided to the participants in the form of printed occasional monographs and modules, the university is bound to get popularity for introducing the above mentioned unique, job oriented and need based two years distance learning Post Graduate Degree Programmes leading to Master of Disaster Control, Master of Sustainable Development, Master of Ecology and Environment. 7. The examinations will be conducted twice a year on 20 - 24 June and 22 - 26 December at 30 selected examination centres in all important cities in India and also in SAARC countries. The collaborating institution (PRT - I - PEER) will be responsible coordinating all arrangements for examinations at different examination centres. 8. Details of Examination Scheme and Procedure have been given separately. 9. All setting of question papers and evaluation of answer sheets will be done as per the approval of the Examination Department of the University but necessary autonomy will be given to the University's Institute of Open and Distance Education for asking the collaborating Institution to have a panel of experts in the fields of Disaster Control, Sustainable Development, Ecology and Environment. Atleast three sets of question papers will always be kept ready for ensuring examinations to be held at the right time and on the dates announced every year. 10. All students will be submitting a Master's Thesis on topics related to Risk Analysis, Disaster Management, Sustainable Development, Ecology, Environment, Pollution Control, Environmental Education, Natural Resources Conservation, Environmental Laws etc. 11. A Memorandum of Understanding will be signed between the University and the Collaborating Institution after approval of this proposal. A copy of the Draft MoU has also been placed in this proposal which may be suitably modified if necessary. 12. For detailed discussion representatives of both the Institutions may visit New Delhi and Bhopal and decide the line of action regarding announcing the programmes. |
