Master of
Science in Pollution Control
Objective :
The Two Years Master of
Science Degree in Pollution Control being conducted under distance
learning has been designed for preparing a competent cadre of Experts in
Pollution Control and for meeting the demand of the growing needs of
trained manpower in the fields of air, water, noise, agricultural,
nuclear, thermal, marine, solid waste and related pollution besides the
State of India's pollution as well as the global pollution issues.

Award :
Two Years Master of Science
(M.Sc.) Degree with specialisation in Pollution Control shall be awarded
to all the successful candidates by Sikkim Manipal University of Health,
Medical and Technological Sciences, Gangtok.
Teaching
Methodology :
The Learning Centre of the University at
New Delhi will receive the completed applications and the fee from the
students and provide all facilities including counselling, lessons,
guidance, assignment sheets etc.

Study Materials :
Printed lessons will be
despatched from the New Delhi based Learning Centre of the University.
The assignments will also be sent to the admitted participants from time
to time. These assignments will be completed by the participants as an
integral part of the Master's Degree Programme.
Medium of
Instruction : Lessons are in English and so the students are
required to appear in the examination in English.
Tuition and Other
Fee : The total fee for the two years distance learning Master's
Degree Programme is Rs. 25,700 payable in four instalments. The first
instalment of Rs. 7,000 is payable at the time of admission. The second
instalment of Rs. 6,000, third instalment of Rs. 6,700 and fourth
instalment of Rs. 6,000 is payable in the sixth, twelfth and eighteenth
month.

The first instalment
of Rs. 7000 is payable at the time of admission. Accordingly, the
completed Application Form alongwith four passport size photographs,
copies of certificates and mark sheets and a Bank Draft for the first
instalment of fee (Rs.7000) in the name of "Indian Institute of
Ecology and Environment" payable at New Delhi must reach Dr.
Aaradhana Salpekar, Director, Indian Institute of Ecology and
Environment, A 15, Paryavaran Complex, South of Saket, Maidangarhi Marg,
New Delhi - 110030 by registered post only. The completed application
forms may also be submitted personally at the Admissions Counter of the
Indian Institute of Ecology and Environment, New Delhi between 9 am and
5 pm.
Examination Scheme
: Each paper is of 100 marks out of which 30 marks are for
practicals and internal assessment where as 70 marks are for written
examination to be held at different examination centres in and outside
the country.
Master's Thesis :
All admitted students will be
working on a particular topic for preparing the Master's Thesis to be
submitted before appearing in the second year examination. The topic may
be related to pollution control in sugar, leather, cement,
pharmaceutical, textiles, petrochemicals, paper, steel and mining
industries. |
